You- The Best
God has
made us unique; unique and social. Yet, in this cruel world, you must learn how
to carry yourself through the earthly hurdles and establish your legacy.
You are
the only living specimen of yourself in this world. There is no double of you.
You are the best version of yourself no matter how many times you evolve. It is true
and this truth won’t die with your demise if you can successfully register it
in people’s minds.
Many times
in our life we get this idea that we might become like someone else or maybe we
could follow the steps of someone to be like someone. We look up to the people
who are more successful and more recognized. We urge our spirit to become like
them. We become obsessed with the person we want to be rather than contenting in who we already are.
But this
is not what we should look forward to. Successful people emanate motivation-
something we should grasp and implement in our venture. Their talks,
life-stories, experiences, mistakes- we should succumb to these factors and
form them into our intellectual drives. But eventually, it is we who must walk
the path.
If there
is one person you can become through all your strivings and efforts, it is you.
You may not match someone else’s caliber but know this that ‘someone’ may not
able to overcome the barriers you did overcome . Every single person is
exceptional, so are his or her problems.
You may be
disappointed because you couldn’t sing as soulfully as that singer, or run as
fast as that runner, or jump as high as that high-jumper, or speak as
intriguingly as that speaker, but know this- all those people you are comparing
yourself with may not be able to do something that you can. There must be
something that you can do the best or you might have that potential to do it in
the most exceptional way possible.
We always
have heard or read it somewhere that morning shows the day.
But you know what? That is a lie we keep saying to ourselves to seize our
consistency. It’s not about your early success or failure. It’s about your
persistent hard work, learning, correcting, and doing whatever you undertook
until you succeed.
If Albert Einstein
would have stopped studying for his poor marks in school and never strived
to push his limit to learn and grasp the knowledge of physics, we wouldn’t have
known about a few of the most groundbreaking scientific facts in the history of
mankind such as the ‘Theory of Relativity’ or ‘Photoelectric Effect’. The
latter even won him the prestigious Noble Prize back in 1921!
If J. K.
Rowling would have thrown her manuscripts to the garbage after being rejected
by more than 12 publishers, we wouldn’t be able to read and witness her
phenomenal Harry Potter series in literature followed by the grand franchise
successes of Hollywood based on the same literary works. What more, all these
outcomes have made her one of the richest authors in history; as she is holding the second place in the list, as per the Forbes!
Want to
dig more? Take Colonel Harland Sanders. If the name is not very common to you
then picture him as in a white suit, smiley face with a goatee, wavy hair, and
a pair of beaming eyes through spectacles. Yes, he is the gourmet-introducer of the famous "finger lickin' good" fried chicken recipe and former owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).
The
message is simple here. You want to be successful? You want to make a
difference? Keep pushing your limits. Failures are alright , a little or a long
break is acceptable, but giving up is not an option. The world will come at you
with many faces and beat the bones out of you to hold your face to the ground.
Whatever, you must stand back, no matter how long for you it takes.
People
might call you a daydreamer, a couch-potato, or worse, a looser. Here them out
but don’t entertain those remarks to demotivate your spirit. You know your own
struggles, they don’t. You know your shortcomings as well as your potential,
they don’t. You might be different but exceptionally well in your endeavor-
something that only you can feel, THEY DON’T!
The
struggles you are taking today will pay you off immensely at a certain point in
your life. Just stay focused on your goal. Never ever take your eyes off your
goal. You may not know the right path at this moment to reach there but if you
persist, you will.
Learn the
stuff you need to use them as your intellectual guide, experience the unknown
things you require building your stature, keep experimenting until you stop
mistaking and do things perfectly. Remember, no one can and will do these for
you. You are the only right person for taking these responsibilities.
Whenever
you wake up, do it every day- look at your face in the mirror and wake your
spirit up. Not to be a narcissist but talking to your face is effective. The
person you must face every day is You. You hold
accountability to yourself for your deed. Speak genially but firmly to
yourself. You don’t even have to move your lips if you don’t want to, just look
at your eyes and convey the message. Keep doing it for a week, then two, then
for a month or two, three, or more- as you feel necessary. The visual
autosuggestion will work great and may become a trusted alter ego for a
lifetime.
Finally,
don't just be successful but also be a good human being. Never look down upon
yourself. Be confident but refrain from being judgmental to others. Stay happy
and content for whatever God has given you no matter how little it is.
Appreciate those who play the supporting roles in your life, maybe not in words
but in heart at least.
