How Many Lives Does A Dog Have?

A Gang of Beautiful Pet Dogs

So what do you think how many lives does a dog have?

The question is tricky.

There cannot be a straight answer. I mean, to put it in a colloquial note, a cat has nine lives- what about dogs?

Well, maybe not nine, but a dog can survive through several lives too. In this article, we shall reflect on some amazing cases of these tail-wagging friends of ours for having a food-for-thought on this topic.

Read on to know more.

Lives of the Fortunate and Brave Dogs

Ask the dog owners. They persistently bear with all the messes and fusses of their pet dogs. Eventually, it’s them who get scared out of their skins if their dogs face something ominous.

According to a number of cases, pet dogs, especially naughty and spontaneous, are more likely to get into trouble. Sometimes, these playful mischiefs may turn into critical injuries for them.

Naomi, a perky household dog was reported to be in mortal situations a couple of times.
Once, when it jumped on the river of Isar in Munich during a vacation with its owner, and the next, when it tried to leap out of the balcony’s railing, only managing to strangle its neck with its own leash.

On both occasions, Naomi made it to life, advertently with some human interventions.

People also recall many accounts where their furry companions even risked their own lives to save their loving owners. Those dogs had put their lives at stake but refused to retreat from the dangers.

One similar case was related to Haus, a German shepherd, adopted by a family in Florida, who acted heroically to save his owner’s little daughter. A rattlesnake crept into the garden and Haus hopped in to encounter it. Doing so, he took 3 venomous bites from that vicious snake.

Haus was critical as it got its kidneys somewhat damaged. But some good people went for GoFundMe campaign to raise about $35000 and helped save Haus’s precious life with proper medical attention.

"It shows you that a rescue dog, for us, paid it forward by protecting my family," said Adam DeLuca, the father of the endangered little girl Molly.

Many Lives of Wild Survivors

Look at the wild dogs to know about their many lives. The question about the dog’s lives is associated with wildlife in a broader aspect.

African wild dogs are the second most endangered carnivores in the world due to environmental changes. Siberian huskies, Alaskan huskies, Malamutes, etc. pull sledges over the snowy paths while facing the harsh nature.

These wild dogs go through life threats every year due to famine, bigger animal attacks, malnutrition, natural calamities, etc. Still, they survive altogether generation after generation. Hence, attributing “many lives” on wild dogs won’t be a pompous thing to say.

Endnote

Having many lives depicts the fortune, bravery, striving, and succeeding through hardships. The dogs exemplified above have had those lives, and they had unnervingly proved their worth of having it.

If that is not living many lives, I don’t know what is.
